A bonus tip to help you along the way.  Like any journey, there will be mountains and valleys.  These ups and downs are unavoidable, so I recommend keeping reminders close by.  Whatever they may be a video, letter, email anything that reminds you of your story and your why.

I’d be lying if I didn’t share that there were times while on my journey that I consider throwing in the towel and quitting.  For example, I burned out at the end of 2020 trying to “rescue” family members and client careers.  Like many others last year,  I didn’t have healthy boundaries in place and stress was at an all-time high.  However, I was fortunate to have a bright light shining through those darkest moments. 

While resting and recovering, I would often look at the client feedback form below.  It’s from a client who I’m proud of because he has accomplished quite a bit since working together.  I never told him how much this really meant to me so I have in my calendar to call him to thank him and share how he unknowingly helped me on many long days and late nights.  

Sustainable change is difficult but if you own your story and have established your why they will make the journey easier.  Like many great movies or stories, it’s often darkest before light or the lowest point before the breakthrough.  Most likely, there will be days when you ask yourself is all this worth it or should I just give up.  I encourage you to have hope and faith that something great is around the corner.
